You'll be staying in Montferrer, a village in the Upper Vallespir region, prized for its open landscapes and authentic atmosphere. From the gîte, you can easily access the walking trail leading to the ruins of the feudal castle, an iconic site offering magnificent panoramic views over the valley. Other trails start from the village, allowing you to reach the Pic de la Souque or the viewpoint, where the view stretches from the deep forests to the peaks of the Canigou mountain. Exploring the surrounding area, you'll also discover the old Saint-Ferréol road, a peaceful route popular with walkers. Less than an hour away, Céret invites you to stroll through its narrow streets and visit its Museum of Modern Art, while Prats-de-Mollo-la-Preste reveals its fortifications and Catalan traditions. For a seaside getaway, Collioure or Argelès-sur-Mer are easily accessible.
